With lots of new additions to our Gusto pubs in recent weeks, we want to update you on what we’ve been up to….
the fox
We’ve just launched our ‘Summer of Steaks’ at The Fox in Bulmer Tye. Running Tuesday-Saturday each week, our steak board shows the cuts and weights of the steaks we have available each day. We’ve also added three outdoor heated dining pods (think a dining version of The Beerhouse beer huts) and a log burner to our courtyard garden. So this summer, we highly recommend spending a balmy evening (or few) in your own dining pod, watching the flicker of the fire whilst sharing an incredible tomahawk steak and a glass or two of something delicious.
the crown
Our ‘temporary’ pizza offering at The Crown in Hartest proved so popular over the last two summers that we’ve given our wood burning pizza oven a new home of its own in a (wait for it)… shiny new shipping container! This means that we can serve more of you more of the pizzas you’ve grown to know and love. Our pizza kitchen and garden bar are open Friday-Sunday and you can view our opening hours here:
the cadogan
Meanwhile at The Cadogan in Ingham, we’ve recently installed a Grizzly oven in our kitchen. If you’ve not come across a Grizzly before, it’s a charcoal and wood oven, handmade in Sheffield, which seals in natural flavours whilst imparting a unique aroma to a wide range of foods. Customer feedback has been amazing and we’re now cooking most of our meat and fish in it. We even gently smoke our roast sirloin of beef on a Sunday in it to give the tiniest hint of oak smoke. You may be able to tell that we’re more than a little bit in love with our new oven and we think you soon will be too. We also love the fact that our head chef is known as Mr Bear so he and the Grizzly go perfectly together!
brewshed
Staying in Ingham, we’ve added a micro-canning line to Brewshed which means we can produce and can tiny fast changing batches of the beers we love most. You’ll see them in all our pubs available to drink in or take out and you can also buy them at our wine shop, Vino Gusto. Here comes a disclaimer on our beer names though as Andrew (head brewer) & Haydn (general manager at The Beerhouse) have taken over this particular part of the creative process! A couple of recent notable recent examples are Neomexicanus & Talking Turtles and we’re slightly terrified of what the next name may be…
wine
As you probably know, wine is a big passion of ours and we’ve recently updated the wine lists at all of our pubs. You’ll find lots of stunning new wines but we still group everything by style, making it easier for you to find what you like – and if you need any help picking out something delicious, just ask one of our team. The new lists are already live at The Cadogan, The Beerhouse, The Crown and The Fox and The One Bull will launch its new list on 28th June. Our wine flights at The One Bull will remain a firm fixture and are a great way to try a 50ml measure of each of the wines within your favourite section (or maybe even try a different style).
vino gusto
Our wine shop has been up and running in its new home at 27 Hatter Street for three months and what an amazing start it’s been.
