Warning – Gusto picks six has been the subject of a takeover this week!
With Father’s Day looming, we let Mr Marjoram loose in the cellar to come up with his ideal selection. Even the printed tasting notes in the box and the label use our youngest’s handwriting.
We present this week’s Gusto picks ‘Dave’s Dad’s Day drinks box’. 4 and a half wines, 3 cans of beer & a Negroni on us for £60.
Here are Dave’s picks:
Innocent Bystander, Pink Moscato, Australia, 2019 (375ml)
This is sweet, frothy and delicious. I love this wine. Don’t tell my mates (or my wife – ahem, she knows!). Drink it from a pint mug over ice but definitely don’t tell Jake.
Azevedo, Vinho Verde Loureiro/Alvarinho, Portugal, 2019
This is fresh, crisp and bright. It’s a great alternative to Albarino.
Amalaya, Calchaqui Valley Torrontes/Riesling, Argentina, 2018
This is aromatic, fresh and delicious. Enjoy it with your takeaway.
Bodegas LAN, Rioja Crianza, Spain, 2016
This is a real favourite of mine. I love it so much that LAN send us their used barrels for our Brewshed beer to age in.
Spice Route, `Chakalaka` Swartland, South Africa, 2016
I love South African wine and this is a cracker. A real Father’s Day treat. Do not share it!
Brewshed Peach Mel-Buh! 4.0%, Bury St Edmunds, 2020
Brewed by us. Tart, fresh and sour. Drink it cold when the weather’s hot.
Brewshed Vanilla Porter 4.7%, Bury St Edmunds, 2020
Brewed by us. Dark, smooth and creamy. Just like ice cream but no flake needed.
Brewshed New England IPA 5.0%, Bury St Edmunds, 2020
Brewed by us. Hazy, hoppy and juicy. Impress your hipster friends by drinking this.
Classic Negroni, mixed by us in lockdown
The perfect cocktail. Sweet, bitter and classic. Pour over ice and stir. Our gift to you so enjoy this one on us and Happy Father’s Day. Ever wondered what the origins of a Negroni were? Read our blog post:
We also have lots of individual bottles of wine, a great selection of spirits and Brewshed mini-kegs and canned gift packs of beer – all perfect for Father’s Day presents.
Normal service resumes next week with Jake’s picks…
